Christian Business Tip: Build for Sustainability Before You Scale
I visited one of our partners, The Metropolitan Business League. Before I left, they asked me to share a business tip with their nearly 2,000 members.
My message was simple: Build your sustainability plan in the abundant season—not just your plan to scale.
When business is going well:
Protect what is working. Build reserves, systems, and relationships that can carry the business through disruption.
Prepare before you need to pivot. Sustainability planning gives you options before pressure forces rushed decisions.
Scale from stability. Growth without a strong foundation can increase revenue while also increasing risk.
The abundant season is not only the time to ask, “How much bigger can we become?”
It is also the time to ask, “What are we building now that will help us remain standing when the season changes?”
